• My app on iPhone/iPod touch won't open. It crashes on startup. What gives?
We have found that in some rare instances, some data may become corrupt and not let the application fully open. However, it's an easy fix.
If you delete the app from your phone or iPod and download it again, it clears up the problem. To delete the app, please tap and hold on the Kids in Mind icon until it starts to wiggle and then tap the 'X'. Next, go to the app store, search for Kids In Mind, and tap as if you are going to purchase the app. The message 'You've already purchased this item. To download it again for free, select OK' will appear. When you select 'OK', the app will reinstall. Once installed, please tap the app to launch. This should fix the problem.
• Can I get new movie reviews and ratings after 60-days?
Yes. After 60-days you will be asked if you would like to continue receiving new reviews and ratings. To purchase 12-months of new reviews and ratings, simply follow the on screen prompts. If you prefer not to receive new reviews and ratings, the app will continue to work normally and you will receive regular app updates, however, new movies will not be added.
• Do you determine if a movie is appropriate for kids?
No. Our system is based on objective standards, not the viewer's age or the artistic merits of a film. We allow you to determine whether a movie is appropriate for you or your children. Along with a rating for Sex, Violence, and Profanity, we also include instances of substance use, a list of discussion topics that may elicit question from children, and the message the film conveys.
• How detailed are your reviews?
Very detailed. We provide you with almost every detail
of the movie from matter-of-fact sexual scene descriptions
to exactly how many profanities are exclaimed.
